My parents were of mixed heritage: male and female.
Despite this rocky beginning, I ended up as a radio industry spokesperson, musician, writer/columnist for radio trade magazines, and a non-boring college instructor at two colleges in CT.
ON THE AIR, OFF THE AIR: I was a radio DJ (in the 60's & 70's), a studio engineer at WABC & WPLJ radio in New York City (in the 70's), a nationwide radio programming consultant (in the 80's & early 90's). Also 14 years as head writer / director of marketing & PR for Radio Computing Services, Inc. (RCS) the world's largest radio software company (1993 - 2006). In fact, I still host a radio program every weekend.
I've visited 49 states (Alaska), and have spoken at radio industry events throughout the USA and the UK, the Netherlands, Singapore and Australia.
OVER 1,000 EVENTS: As a mobile DJ in the 80's and 90's I entertained at over a thousand wedding receptions, anniversaries, picnics, parties, boat launchings, nightclubs and yes, even divorce parties!
WHAT DJs LEARN: (1) Everyone's musical taste is different. (2) Respect all musical genres because each has millions of legitimate fans. (3) All SUCCESSFUL musical performers create a "mashup" of art, science, psychology, culture...and music.
